A Different Kind of Church

A Different Kind of Church

Do you think churches are boring, irrelevant or judgmental? Or did you simply drop out of church after going to college?

At St. Mark’s, we get it. Most of us were the same way before we visited St. Mark’s. What we found was an exciting place where everyone is accepted and where spiritual truths are taught in creative ways that we could understand and relate to. God makes sense at St. Mark’s.

At St. Mark’s, we believe that the best way to connect people today with the truths of the Bible is by using contemporary methods of communication. We strive to communicate God’s word and love in ways that are fresh, relevant, understandable and creative. We believe we can impact the culture for God by being a part of the culture and making God’s message of love and hope come alive in our society! With dynamic and practical messages, insightful dramas and upbeat, inspirational music, we guarantee you won’t ever be bored at St. Mark’s Church. And while our goal is not to entertain, we make no apologies for striving for total excellence in everything we do. We believe God deserves and expects our very best efforts.

While St. Mark’s is creative and contemporary in style; we will never compromise on our beliefs. We believe that God created us, loves us and desires a relationship with us. But because of our selfishness, we have turned from God and have fallen short of His standards. The bad news is that we can never work our way into God’s favor by trying harder or following a strict religious code. The good news is that God has bridged the gap between Himself and humanity by sending His son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life in place of our imperfect lives and die on our behalf. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is our representative and advocate with God today. All we have to do is accept Jesus’ free gift of forgiveness, ask God to apply the redeeming work of Christ on the Cross to our lives, and open our hearts to a relationship with Him. We believe the Bible is God’s word to us and that it is fully relevant for our lives today. Our message, the message of the Bible, is one of love and grace. We believe that when individuals clearly understand the depth of God’s compelling love, they will respond with a faith that is built on a personal relationship, not on a set of rules and regulations.

Senior pastor, Bob Disher, and the other members of the teaching team, are excellent communicators who work really hard to make God’s Word relevant to you. With colorful illustrations, practical suggestions and humor, the teaching team will apply the Bible’s truth and teaching to the issues that affect our everyday life. You’ll find yourself anxious to come back each week. In case you haven’t noticed, this is a truly exciting place! Our mission at St. Mark’s is to reach today’s culture with the exciting news of God’s compelling and irresistible love.

What Makes St. Mark's Different?
What Makes St. Mark's Different?

What guests usually notice first is the large number of people who attend our weekend services and the dozens of ministries that meet a wide range of needs. Our large size has many benefits, but if you look closer, actually we’re quite small where people are getting connected and developing authentic and enduring relationships.

Together we’re making it our goal to become a church the Bible describes - a church with passionate and heart-felt worship, relevant teaching, bona fide friendships, constant prayer, and compassionate care for people in need. We’re on a search for a contagious kind of Christianity that can influence the whole community ... one life at a time.

You’ll find that this is a place where you really matter - because you matter to God!

Please know that you are welcome here and that any of our pastors or staff stand ready to assist you in any way possible. You are important to us because you are important to God.
