Spiritual Formation - Growth

GROWTH - Developing as a follower of Christ

Resources in this section can help you grow in your knowledge of God as you learn about spiritual disciplines.

STARTING OUT

  • Case for Faith, Case for a Creator – These books by former investigative reporter Lee Stroebel can enable new believers and seekers to understand the evidence for their faith.

  • Starting Point – This is a five-week study for those beginning or reconnecting to a relationship with God. Set in a small group, you can ask questions and learn the basics of being in a relationship with Christ in a safe, understanding atmosphere.

  • Growing in Christ Together – Group study on discipleship from the Experiencing Christ Together Series.

MAKING PROGRESS

  • Foundations – This is an eight-week study in a small group setting where you explore an overview of the essential beliefs of the Christian faith. Through your study and dialogue with group members, you grow in your understanding of these beliefs and how they apply to your life.

  • Men’s & Women’s Bible Studies - These on-going studies are designed to assist their participants in becoming fully developing followers of Christ through a study of the Scriptures.

  • The Life You’ve Always Wanted – In this book by John Ortberg, learn what it means to live as Jesus would on a day-to-day basis--one filled with new meaning, hope, change, and a joyous, growing closeness to Christ.

MOVING AHEAD

  • DISCIPLE Bible Study – This is a 34-week journey through the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. As a participant in this small group study, you will learn God’s story and the role He calls you to play in it as a disciple who walks with Him. No previous Bible study experience is required.

  • Celebration of Discipline – This classic book by Richard Foster discusses the spiritual disciplines, providing practical examples and describing how they help us move toward life transformation.
