CHURCH AS IT SHOULD BE
What is church? Who came up with this idea?

Church As It Should Be takes a look at the spiritual characteristics of the early church and how they apply today. The qualities Christ set forth shape our entire church vision and structure.

Students will explore the Book of Acts to get a much broader understanding of what this “church thing” is really all about – and what their role in God’s kingdom is.

FAQ

I keep hearing about Large Group. What is that?
Crossings impacts your student through two environments every Sunday. One of these is Large Group in Reformation Hall, where all 6th-8th grade students first meet to interact in zany team games, vibrant worship with their own live band and learn from inspirational speakers. The goal of Large Group is to set up fun and meaningful discussions during Link Group.

What is a Link Group?
Link groups provide the fuel that drives students to make good choices during each week. Ideally led by two adult leaders and a high-school mentor, each small group includes students from the same middle-school grade, geographic area and gender. This gives them the opportunity to grow a group of Christian friends close to home for added encouragement and accountability. Students enjoy getting together outside of church with their Link Group Leaders and link groups for additional fun, community service and personal/spiritual growth. Our goal is for each link group to remain together for the duration of middle school. On occasion, a group that grows too large will be (divided) multiplied to keep relationships personal. But, don’t worry – friends and old leaders are always around!

How is my student’s Link Group Leader or group chosen?
Link Group Leaders volunteer to participate and then go through an Interview/Approval process before being selected to lead students. We group all students by school grade, geographic area and gender.

Can my student bring a friend to Crossings?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. Crossings is designed to be fun Fun FUN and inspirational for every middle school student! We’re thrilled when your student is so excited about what he or she is experiencing at church that it has to be shared! Middle school is a critical stretch, when relationships can begin to get messy and emotionally challenging and growing spiritual strength now will influence choices that matter!

St. Mark’s Student Ministry is designed to be a place where youth…

  • Experience Christ.
  • Are equipped and supported to minister to their peers.
  • Find a supplemental partner to the spiritual direction already being provided by their parents.
  • Use their God-given gifts to serve others in need.
  • Introduce their friends to Jesus Christ.

Who Are We? We're a community of friends. We're a community of all different brands, colors, sizes and schools. We're a family of friends, and if you're looking for a place where people will be there for you; a place of your own, where people know your name, we want you to come and check us out.

Middle School
Our 6th, 7th & 8th grade students get together Sunday nights from 5:00 to 6:15 PM. Our whole group joins together to connect with God through fun, worship, teaching & prayer. We also break down into smaller groups of friends to talk and pray. It's fun and gives you a chance to experience God's love for you.
For more info contact Nick Jordan: nick@stmarkschurch.org

High School
Our High School students gather on Sunday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. We all meet together to connect with God. It just might turn out to be the best 90 minutes of your week!

First Time
We're on the corner of Garden Road and Willow Oak. Look for the brick drive-through. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, approach one of the fantastic adults you'll see around and tell them it's your first time here. They'll be glad to show you around! We want to be here for you!

For more information, contact Jarm Turner.
